Well, I guess I missed another reason to celebrate, and I even had it written in my calendar. I'm talking about PI DAY,3.14, this last Saturday.
There is just no way to cut it, I am a getting a few slices short of a whole pie! I went out this morning in pursuit of those leftover PI DAY items that go on sale after the day. The only thing I found was a marked down KEY LIME PIE at PUBLIX, and that was sugar free. You see, sugar free items are big down here. I did purchase the KEY LIME pie and will save it for tomorrow, ST. PATTY'S DAY. This is another habit I have acquired since moving to The Florida,buying marked down items for an upcoming event.
Anyone who read my blog about Square Root Day, PI DAY has more opportunities to celebrate since it occurs every April 16th,4.16. If I knew how to use this computer I could show you some of my greeting card ideas.
The front of one card would have pies with 4.16 decorating them,with people running away saying "The PI IS FALLING!" OR, some one sitting in a field (a thought bubble above them) thinking ."OH, IF I COULD ONLY HAVE ONE OF THOSE PIE IN THE SKY DAYS!" and the inside says ,"WELL, YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO. SO EAT PIE. HAPPY PI DAY!"
Another one would have a bunch of people lined up against a wall with soldiers facing them. The card reads as follows,"THIS DAY ISN'T REALLY THAT BAD!"
You open the card and it reads,"PLAY ALONG WITH THE PIE IN THE EYE GAME. IT'S THE PI DAY OR THE HIGHWAY!" The illustration inside shows these same people being hit in the face with pies.
If you would be interested in purchasing any such card from me for ANY occasion just let me know. I can write it and SJ will illustrate them (she doesn't know this yet). We can even cater your PI Day celebrations with a PI PARTY ;themed games and decorations. I told you I am CRAZY...

50 Year Old Barbie
Happy Birthday to you,Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Barbie,Happy Birthday to you! Yes, yesterday Barbie turned 50 years old or new! She really hasn't aged in these 50 years. I no longer wear a pony tail; nor wear those outfits(I never did) and those shoes!
Did you know that they have a Barbie for any and all occasions,I think. In these difficult times,is there an unemployed Barbie; a Barbie that drives a used car; or a Barbie that has to move back home to make ends meet? Did Barbie ever go to college; read or write;or did she even think? She must have thought about those outfits and KEN...Now that's a whole other story!
I hope I don't offend anyone,but I didn't play with Barbies. I had everything under the sun. I had a Chatty Kathy Doll. Granted,she could only say,"I love you","Will you play with me?" and a few other phrases.Yet, she at least looked like me, and had a few thought in her head...
SJ did not have a Barbie. She had baby dolls and two American Girl Dolls. now those are real dolls. They dress for their time period in history and their stories tell you what they are thinking. I know that they have become quite the rage,but they were not when I first saw them in one of my educators magazine instead of the Sears catalogue.

Happy Square Root Day
Hello to everyone who cares that it is square root day! When you are retired,you get this sort of information. But, guess what? All of the greeting card companies let this one get by. Just another thing to add to my "When I Have Nothing To Do List", is to design cards for all of these important days.
It is Happy Square Root Day because it is 3/3/09(3x3=9) and 9 is a square root number. The next square day,oh, I mean Square Root Day is 4/4/16(4x4=16) and 16 is a square root. So, if you missed out on sending out those special Square Root Day items, you have until April 4,2016!
This also gives me plenty of time to design those cards. I have thought about incorporating a dial into the design,so the card could be used for more than just one Square Root Day,it's the green way too! Of course I will have to consult with my math daughter SJ to find out more about Square Roots. Oh, I just see the endless possibilities to this one.
Such items as chocolates in square boxes with square chocolates;square shaped jewelry (square root cut); glittery glass,wood plastic etc numbers to hang on little trees and some sort of little character that represents Square Root.
While I have been rambling I realized that I forgot to inform you about the name of my greeting card company. SJ and I thought about this one when she was in elementary school. The name is:"Kardmark","When you care to spend a little less!"

Retired,Fire(d) and Tired
It has been almost one month since my last posting. This sounds like my Catholic upbringing!
Well you see, I went on a week long cruise. That's a whole nother(is that a word?) blog. Not the ports that I visited;drinks that I had;pounds that I gained nor fun I had,but the ports almost didn't see...
When we got home,we rushed over to the East Coast(here in "the Florida") twice,within days of each other. On the first trip back, the mobile home almost burned down.Power surge which resulted in loosing a two year almost "grown up" NEW tv to us , a hardly new $25.00 tv,did I mention that the NEW tv had a built in dvdplayer and VCR,and the COMPUTER!!! Well,SJ always told me not to buy a combo tv,but who listens to the wise one tech daughter? BUT,the COMPUTER!!! Just when I was beginning to BLOG. We took the computer to the fix it shop. Is that the "PC"(political correct/personal computer) word now to call it a "fix it shop"? The computer person called back and said it cooked the power source only(only $100.00)PLUS $20.00 more to double it's memory. I only wish I could go somewhere here in "the Florida" where they have every kind of clinic under the sun,to have my memory upgraded for just $20.00! When I mentioned to SJ about the computer only having the power source damaged,and that it must have been due to the "fire wall" she laughed too long and loud. She then went on to explain to me what a fire wall is. Then I tried to remember if I said this to the computer person at the fix it shop or anyone else,BUT you see, my memory failed me due to not being able to double the memory. If I could double my memory,wouldn't I be something else instead of retired,fire(d) and tired.
As you can tell,I am a rambler though.I sure am glad my someday SJ will be a "doctor" and can help her poor old mother!

One More Step for MOM Kind
Well, I just filled out more of my "profile"? I feel like I have just been launched into space without a flight plan. At times I think that I using tools(tech ones) that I am not familiar with.What is a "Search Engine", and do I have control of it's speed? What is a "Tool Bar"? Do I get to drink before or after the launch? I do like to be dressed for the job or ocassion,but when you blog you can be in your PJs,and as SJ has blogged I like this. So, it is just one mor step for this old retired tired Mom...

Surprise
